About TireCheck

TireCheck is a free mobile web app that helps drivers decide whether to keep or replace their tires, and where to buy them.

What it does

• Vehicle lookup: choose year, make, and model from the U.S. NHTSA vehicle database, decode a VIN, or identify the vehicle from a photo.
• Tire check: read the tire size and DOT date from a sidewall photo, guide a tread-depth check, and give a conservative keep / replace-soon / replace recommendation with a safety disclaimer.
• Tire pressure: read the door-jamb placard, or compute a safe pressure for non-stock tires using standard load-inflation tables.
• Shopping: show nearby tire shops (starting in Las Vegas, NV) and open retailers such as Tire Rack, Discount Tire, SimpleTire, and Goodyear with the driver's tire size filled in.

Audience

U.S. car owners shopping for replacement tires, starting in the Las Vegas area.

How we promote retailers

Retailer links are clearly labeled, include an affiliate disclosure, and send shoppers to the retailer's own site for pricing. We do not scrape retailer sites, use coupon or cashback tactics, or bid on retailer trademarks.
